The Wizard of Oz wasn’t the first colour film, but it was one of the first to use Technicolor’s three-strip process, and certainly the most significant. Its transition from monochrome to colour whe Dorothy first arrives in Oz is one of the great moments of cinema.

This project takes a screenshot every 1.5 seconds across the film’s 140 minutes, and analyses their colours.
